Charging System Fault after new battery install

Charging System Fault after new battery install
I just temporarily took ownership of an 2016 LR4 which had been sitting in a parking garage for 6 months. I wasn't able to successfully jumpstart the truck and was not within 100 feet of an outlet, so I just bought a new battery. The truck started right away, but the little red battery/triangle is on. There is a "charging system fault" error on startup. I drove the truck about 40 miles but the fault persisted. I had the voltage at the battery checked with lights on an engine running: 13.84V, 14.04 volts with lights off. So I think the battery is charging.
What could be the cause?
Could the ODB2 reading help?
Should I take it to a dealer?
Thanks,
Henry

Did you reset the battery? The LR4 has a battery management system. If you put in a new battery and do not tell the computer, it sees that the battery is not acting "normal" (like it did with an old battery).
It may be as simple as resetting the battery with a diagnostic tool.
Hope this helps some.
