I'm going to bet valve covers. Nearly all JLR 5.0 and 3.0 litre valve covers leak.

We have a winner. Valve cover gaskets need replacing. Quoted $5k to do the work.

What parts are they including for that price? It's an easy job especially on the NA engine. I'd recommend plugs, coils & injectors too.

Correct though the NA replacement's easier.

aren't the rear pipes on the V8 and the V6 the same? i thought i read they were.

Edit: after a little more research(which, yes, i should have done before posting originally), the rear crossover pipes are the same for V8 5.0 NA and SC only. this covers LR4s, RR, and RRS.

Has anyone ordered the aluminum pipes yet? So frustrating as last year I had the valve cover oil leak done under warranty (I already have the updated plastic coolant pipes) . I would love to have these new pipes done, as the engine is pretty decent if it does not have coolant leaking issues (provided it is serviced of course) . I might have to dedicate a few days of my life and attempt to do the change myself. It is a bit more than I am used to doing, but the family love the LR4 (over everything, and we have had many top level other SUV's) and we wold like to keep it long term.

Supercharged V6 and V8s have the same pipes; the NA V8s are different.
