Default Coolant pipe replacement every 5 years on V8?

Had a conversation with someone who works extensively on the V8s. his view is whether you use plastic or aluminum pipes you shld replace them every 5 years on the v8 and his view is the aluminum don't offer any real benefit.

thoughts?

Replace the aluminum tubing every 5 years?!? Thats my thought.
What is important is sticking to the fluid change schedule.

@ttforcefed simple answer no, @guy had it right.

Instead change your coolant every 2 to 3 years like you are supposed to. And don't use the cheapest coolant you can get, and avoid coolant flushes they are not nice to plastic bits or heater cores.

I would go aluminum LR has specified that for the SCV6 as a replacement for the plastic, so not reason not to on the V8.

Oh, I thought they were available for the 5.0... of course, from the factory that would be fantastic as the 5.0 is at a minimum 12 years old?? Very few would continue parts improvements over 12 years. And those that do, need to charge dearly for the privilege.

there is a kit now for the 5.0 that has an aluminum rear crossover, but for some reason the front is still plastic. i can't find an aluminum front crossover for the 5.0 anywhere.

Lucky8 sells a kit, but out of stock. Had one ordered but never came. Backorder issues. Had to cancel and am putting LR OEM in tomorrow.

Oh well, the originals lasted over 190k
