Question Help!! Should I buy this LR4?

Should I be worried about all this rust? It's a 2015 with 65k miles that I may buy tomorrow in the high $20k range...

I need to make a decision in the next couple days on whether to buy this thing, or not! It would be my first Land Rover, so I kinda need some help understanding what I'm getting myself into. Is this rust as bad as it looks, and should I walk away from this purchase? Open to hearing if you think this is (reasonably) repairable.

Thanks for your help everyone!!

the lower A arms are replaceable in fact the bushings are probably worn and need replacement anyhow. The rust on the chassis welds is more concerning. Probably needs closer inspection and if you buy, clean and treat with rust converter or POR type sealer. Also I would remove the rear bumper cover hitch cover and check for rust on the rear crossmember...Looks like it lived in a road salt area for a while

Since this's your first time venturing into Land Rover ownership, I'd highly advise researching the requirements for keeping these machines alive, it's not for the faint of heart. I'd also be concerned about the amount of rust on this one. Mine's done 150K miles and no rust whatsoever, anywhere.

I appreciate your feedback! This is a 2015 LUX Package w/ HD Pkg as well! I did receive a few additional pictures this week and will be sending the car to a shop for a pre purchase inspection tomorrow.

These new pics show rust in a few other areas... also one of the suspension (rubber sleeves.. I think that's what it is?) looks all bent out of shape. Please give me a shout if this looks worse than I'm thinking it is.

Cheers!

I live in a road salt zone. And none of my cars look like that.
A bargain… usually manifests itself with many very expensive repair bills.

I guess you passed on this. There's nothing in those pictures that would worry me in the slightest - perfectly normal surface rust that I've seen on all of my 10+ LR3 and LR4. That's not to say there isn't rust in places you should be concerned about, however. You should check the air reservoir on the underside; the mounts and the tank, especially the welds at the ends. If the vehicle has OEM side steps, check the sills as they could be very ugly.

I agree with @pagoda on the rust although difficult to really tell from pics. Mine started its life in Cincinnati and has some rust but all surface. I keep it clean and garaged now. Better than a Toyota, 😆 which are notoriously rusty.
