Is there a way to use a VIN to see how a vehicle is outfitted? I am looking at a 2014 LR4 HSE, not sure if it is a LUX or not and whether it has the high low transfer case. thanks Phil
Used to be able to use the land rover Topix site, but I heard they’ve removed that functionality. If you have pictures of the interior, you can look for the high/low transfer case button in the center control panel. I circled the area in the below pic. If that circled button is blank - no HD package (no high/low, no locking rear diff). I found this to be the easiest and fastest way to check. This only applies to model year 2014 onward.
Yes !! Vindecoderz is excellent - And FREE. I would never purchase an LR3 or an LR4 without checking this, due to the 'mystery' surrounding exactly which version the vehicle is (Lux or not), and exactly what additional Options are fitted, or not. Case in point, I looked at an LR4 a month or so ago, the place selling it insisted it was a Lux, but it clearly was not, based on Vindecoderz.

I use https://vin-spec.com to get full build sheet, it's much cheaper and has a lot more information in the build sheet.
