Inner and outer brake pads
Hi - just changing the rear brake pads on my 2010 LR4. Got OEM Land Rover pads for replacement. Any guidance on which are inner and outer? The pad mounting is physically identical and the pads appear exactly the same except that the left hand side of the pad material on two of them (and the right hand side of the other two) are cut off at an angle. Two of them have T on the back and the other two say U. Otherwise identical
They seem to fit both ways around. I’m assuming they should be paired so the ‘missing’ bits face one another ie a T and a U on each wheel. But which goes inside and which outside. And bonus points for explaining why they are missing some pad material??

The one with a cut for the wear sensor is the inner: the one on the other side will look the same. The other two are outers.
Also, Google replacing brake pads on a 2010 Land Rover LR4. A few Youtubes. Next time, take a picture before you disassemble.

Thanks both. Yes - the chamfered edge. But it only has on one edge so not symmetric
All 4 pads have slots for the wear sensor. Physically identical except chamfer
I have photos but old pads either don’t have this feature or were so far worn down that you can’t tel which edge it is on
I assumed they go on the leading edge and it works great and is silent in braking (unlike the terrible squeaks I had before) so hopefully got it right!
