Just rolled 100,000 miles on our 2010 Range Rover Sport Transmission Drain and Fill
I just hit the 100,000 mile mark on our 2010 Range Rover Sport HSE. It has been pretty much trouble free. I change the oil every 5,000 miles. The only issue that I have experienced was a leaking cross-over pipe on a trip to Utah earlier this year. It was on my to-do maintenance list, but I hadn't gotten to it yet. I also swapped out the front lower control arms and have changed out the pads and rotors, seems like it is about every 20,000 miles, but I am sure it is longer than that.
I just got back from another roundtrip to Utah (I think that I have made 8 roundtrips from San Diego this year). This Rover is amazing on the highway! It is so stable and comfortable. (my only real complaint is the the AM radio. It leaves a lot to be desired). Plus I am getting over 18 mpg over the last 5,000 miles, city and highway combined.
I am sensing that the transmission is not shifting quite as smoothly as usual and given the mileage, I thought that a tranny fluid drain and fill would be in order. I am going to swap out the OEM tranny pan and filter and swap it for the newer version of pan with the separate filter. Any recommendations on fluid brand and part number? I see that FCP Euro has a sale going today, I thought I might stock up and get ready before my next trip to Utah.
