Default Keep my D4 2016 or not?

Hi, I was just wondering what your thoughts are in the group. Will a LR D4 HSE (256hk) 2016 year model, decrease or increase in value the coming 5-10 years?
I got a good price for the new Defender and I am just thinking, am I doing a bad choise. Is the D4 a "keeper".
Looking forward to your input, thanks

Just thinking that a 2016 D4 is the last model of the "true" Discovery. Not comparable with the D5 (that I have had as well). Like the boxiness and roughness it holds. Beeing the last year of production it should also have come to terms with most issues related to the model.
I might be totally off here but in my mind this would at least be the model-year most sought after.

Check any of the car sites. Aside from the temporary pandemic bump, Land Rovers (all of them) have done nothing but depreciate. I get regular emails from Carvana telling me how much my truck's value drops every month. Is it depreciating slower than a Range Rover, sure, but it's still depreciating. While I agree with the OP that the LR4 is the last best Discovery, the idea that an LR4 would appreciate is quite funny and highly unlikely to me.

Maybe in 2050 it'll increase in value. But honestly you shouldn't expect it to increase, early year models are already creeping down to 10k. Keep it if you like the truck for what it is but don't expect it to go up in value.
