Angry keys

I have lost both keys to my Discovery 4 - the replacement from Landrover is excessive - any other ideas?

Pretty sure you will have to get one key from the dealer

As armyrover says, you lose both, you have to buy a new virgin key from land rover. Also, you might need to change out the KVM.

Once you have a single working key you can code almost anything to the vehicle with the GAP tool, cheap aftermarket or used remote.

I was looking at an auction LR4. No remote. Checked with the locals dealers for a new remotes........One said they wanted $600 plus for the remote, $185 for the key blade and $95 to program. The other dealer said that I needed to buy 2 new remotes, and key blanks, "around $600 each," and a new module.........so much for that LR4. These Land Rover parts prices are really obscene. Phil

MY wife lost both on her Velar last year, although I know its a newer vehicle, she didn't let me know and after 2 weeks of it being parked it totally shut down, so that ended up costing 2 keys at 450 each, a new KVM and another module in the cargo space as it went into hibernation mode or whatever Land Rover call it. All in almost $2500 in bits and labor.

So get on it sooner rather than later.

If you can get it to the dealer then they can open the car by looking up the key barrel code from Land Rover, cutting a key, then reprogramming the KVM or if its been too long replacing it.

Fingers crossed for you.

Stu.
