And why are we comparing an LR4 to a Ford Explorer?

Edit: Well that was meant to be a little tongue & cheek - but just looked up an Explorer's side profile....

I personally like the boxy body style. And the 2013 Rover sport was the best as well.

Ill put my 2 cents worth - I have a 2016 Lr4 - I like it . you can't beat a box for storage. Its perfect for me. The quietest and best riding truck I have ever had.

Note the word TRUCK

I have driven the new LR a quite a few times - I have no doubt that the new Discovery is technically superior and maybe even surpasses the old car.

However, it is a car. Its a unibody car. Drives like a unibody - feels like a unibody and sounds like a unibody.

I grew up with jeeps and ****** and old defenders. These are old school rides - yet there was no place I could not go. This was before rock crawlers. Old defenders broke axles like pretzels with oversize tires. What I'm saying is this nothing will beat with proper off road training.

cheers

The comical thing about all this is that when the LR4 was available for purchase new it had dwindling sales each year... Discontinue it and bring out something that is similar to has no issue selling and everyone wants the previous body style and design.
