So this an intermittent problem and I am not sure how I am going to catch the problem.
Here is what happens. Periodically the car will suspension fault and go down and sag on top of the wheels. Get the fault on the display to not exceed 30MPH but the entire terrain response system goes black. Periodically if I continue driving it will fix itself or I have to pull over and restart the car and everything will go back to normal.
Any
or help would be greatly appreciated.
Im thinking of starting to look at the voltage on the battery.
I made an appointment with my local shop that does my repairs and I assume they are just gonna scan the car for codes but I don't believe anything will be saved if its not actively throwing the faults.
I notice that It primarily does this when the car is cold in the morning.
Once again any help is appreciated. Pictures attached.
Firstly, the suspension should not arbitrarily lose air. If it does there is air leaking from the system.
Secondly, if the vehicle has dropped to “access level” or what sounds like a front end leak if it drops to the stops, the pump should be able to raise the vehicle level to “normal”, nearly immediately. If it takes a longer period of time, the pump is on its last legs.

Did you look at the photo and see how the terrain response system goes black and not illuminated at all.
Yes this randomly occurs.
It drops on all four corners not just the front when the fault is present. When the fault is not present and the terrain response is illuminated all four corners are even and ride height is fine.
When the fault goes away either by random or by vehicle restart the pump does raise the vehicle to normal but not immediately since it is a 10 year old car.
Yes, I have seen all of your attachments, thank you for asking. This is the programmatic response to “suspension fault”.
This does not negate the fact that you are losing air pressure. Air should not seep on its own.
Age of vehicle is irrelevant. A properly operating air pump will inflate the air system, swiftly… Unless of course, there is a leak.
I would start with confirming the reservoir valve block…
morgan.... get codes, that is really what you need. There can be multiple reason for this fault to occur but typically it is an underperforming compressor or a very serious leak and a nominal leak will not cause it to drop to stops. But codes will help clarify.
Codes aare good.. pretty much gold really.
I don't know it the LR4 works like the LR3, but it the system loses the signal from the ABS sensors, the LR3 will suddenly drop to the bump stops and throw up the suspension fault code. We found this out on the freeway around Detroit the hard way.....which I thought was bad from on LR's part to have it do this at speed, which is to say Detroit freeway speed, where if you go the speed suggestion you get run over like a baby duck.
It's something to check.
