Interesting. 2 unrelated systems having issues.
Well, now that the vehicle is basically operational, you can now acquire the thrown codes and begin a root cause analysis.
Please start a new thread for this as we don’t want to muddy this one with scope creap.

Lesson learned. Sort the battery first to clear the noise of unrelated and non issues.

Looks like I spoke too soon. Driving around today and we got ABS fault and EBA fault followed by stability and gearbox, so this might have been a false hope. I am going to test the new battery in a few hours and see if the new one is also low. I have also read that the electrical by the left rear tire is prone to issues so I am going to take a look there and see if anything is low.

And at 175k, all the grounds.

Oh I will, is there a good resource to make sure that I am checking them all?

You have inspired me to look at the workshop manual for a checklist... and you're not going to like what I have to report.
These engineers were crazy in arbitrarily selecting a grounding point... nearly everywhere.

It seems all wheel arches will have a stud welded to the body capped with a cap nut. But truly, they're everywhere including A-pillars, door openings, etc/
Attached is the best I can find.

PS Get the actual codes thrown!

I have not checked the codes, but testing the battery I noticed that the old one is now reading 12.6, which to me means that a ground is likely the source of my woes here. Once I have time to actually take some things apart I will update my findings.

Alright, I have checked a few grounds and all seem well so far, however I did notice that the wiring to the speed sensor in passenger rear was no longer attached to the body. I will be taking the wiring apart and seeing if there are any bad connections as it was not secure, and looking at replacing that speed sensor as well. We are still getting intermittent ABS/limp mode after driving for a period of time (not even consistent driving, did some errands around town (short drives to store, dropping kids off at school, so on) and for the last leg we got the lights appear. However if it sits for a couple hours it clears back to the original issues.

I have these lights currently on:
  • Yellow break light
  • No Fuel
  • Seat belt/airbag light
These are the codes that are still appearing:

Permanent:
  • U0101 - Lost Communication with TCM
  • U0402 Invalid Data Received From Transmission Control Module
  • U0121 - Lost Communication With Anti-Lock Break System (ABS) Control Module
  • P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor A

Pending:
  • U0151 - Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module
  • U0138 - Lost Communication with All Terrain Control Module
  • U0128 - Lost Communication With Park Break Control Module

Stored:
  • U0138 - Lost Communication With All Terrain Control Module
  • U0128 - Lost Communication With Park Break Control Module
  • U0151 - Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module

I know I am documenting a lot, but hopefully it helps someone else if they run into this issue!

I am having very similar issues, after a few drives it throws some codes. I have noticed the voltage can drop below 9 volts at times while cranking, usually when it is hot, after a few drives. I am wondering if the starter is failing, drawing more current when it is hot. I use a voltmeter that plugs into the cigarette lighter to monitor things.

One area that you might look at is the parking brake module, if it is unplugged the fuel gauge does not work. It might be work inspecting the connector.

I will thank you! Oddly enough, we have found that not having anything plugged in to charging has really helped and we are no longer throwing codes, so you very well could be correct. We are in a hot area so it would make sense!

As for the parking break module, I was thinking this as well. We have further noted that the parking sensor has completely stopped working, and that includes a lack of "clicking" from the sensors. However, today (after a large rain, first on in a long time,) I noticed that when going into reverse we are getting a loud buzzing noise for a few seconds which makes me more curious that something is wrong back there, and more certain that I am getting these issues because we are in a more humid climate.

I will test the parking break module along with taking apart the sensor and such and update!
