I have a coolant leak, seems to be coming from the upper area of the lower rad hose. I am trying to remove the thermostat housing but can't get the lower hose to release. The clip has been removed. Anyone have a non destructive solution?

solved, required several curses, some were compound words, some new compound curses, complete removal, and a vise. I can't say that I know for sure what was leaking though.
