lr4 2016 electrical issue that shuts down the engine
I am new to this site, but have been dealing with an engine replacement after a coolant leak that overheated my LR4 2016. I am not doing the work myself, but ordered a refurbished engine and found a shop that specializes in Land Rover and has installed it. The car is now running, but there appears to be an electrical issue that sends the wrong temperature signal to the gauge. Within a few minutes of driving, the temperature shoots up and the car shuts down. They have run all diagnostics and no codes come up. They have also spent some time tracking the wiring to see if there is a short somewhere, but to no avail. I am afraid that they may want to give up on the car at this point. Any suggestions on what can be done next?

Whether new or not is irrelevant. get a temperature reading with an IR thermostat.
Your first post is not descriptive enough for me. Do you mean that you were running the original engine without coolant?? Or was the original engine destroyed by this lingering issue??
