Lightbulb LR4 engine fail - just saw class action settlement

Seeing JUST NOW that our 2014 LR4 engine failure finally makes sense!

"July 10, 2021 — A Land Rover timing chain lawsuit settlement has been reached between the automaker and the plaintiff who filed the class action lawsuit.
The original timing chain lawsuit was filed in 2018 and included several Jaguar and Land Rover models. But the proposed settlement includes only 2012-2014 Land Rover LR4 and Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles.
According to the class action lawsuit, the Land Rover timing chains, timing chain tensioners, tensioner levers and 5-liter direct injection engines can fail due to defects."

Does anyone happen to know the name of the law firm that filed the class action suit that was settled?

How did your engine fail? I didn’t look at the lawsuit to see why the 2014’s were included but not later vehicles. I had thought LR redesigned the tensioners in 2012 and that the late 2012 and onward cars had the new parts. Curious what problems those later vehicles were seeing (if the redesigned tensioners were still failing, or if some other component was failing).

Post Document - Class action settlement for timing chain

Here is a copy of the settlement in case anyone is curious. The law firm is listed inside. In short, there is a pro-rata reimbursement. Any repairs after 8 years or 100,000 miles of service are not eligible for reimbursement.

Hopefully not hijacking this thread, but a recent settlement announced for 2012 through 2014 Land Rover for timing chain defects. Just an FYI.
