I have a 2010 LR4 HSE I purchased used that came equipped with a Land Rover hood deflector accessory. Two of the five retaining clips have now broken and the deflector buffets at highway speed. My local dealership said that the clips are not sold separately and I would have to buy a new deflector. Does anyone out there know this to be true? Has anyone found an alternate source? Or could I be the only one who has experienced this type of failure? Thanks in advance.

Easy answer. Ditch the dumb accessory

I have only seen one instance in my entire life when one of those things would have helped (my hood still has the chips from the insane rain/dust storm outside of Bonneville). I regret nothing. It's an adventure vehicle.

 

Thanks. I certainly will have to ditch it if I lose one more clip. For now, I'm going to try to hold on to it.
