what exactly was the significance of the Metropolis package? outside of wheels and extended roof rails i don't see much difference. could anyone explain?

 

Not a lot really. It was a 2011 special edition model. It was a white HSE model with distinctive exterior much like a 'black pack' on external trim, roof rails, special black wheels, air intake etc. Not my taste but a lot of people liked the look. They then did a black metropolis too

Mechanically it was the same - I believe it was just a cosmetic package. And it came in HSE rather than Lux base spec so didn't have all the high end frills

possibly. friend of mine is selling a black version. it didn't look all that different to me outside of contrast stitching and a set of wheels that aren't really my thing. i am curious if there is a premium for these 'special edition' models or if they trade at the same fair market value of their equivalent non-metro edition.
