I am seeking to obtain a slightly more aggressive styling and look to my 2016 LR4 of which is used primarily for City/Highway Driving with some occasion minor-moderate off-roading capability above the normal OEM set-up.
RECOMMENDATIONS/FEEDBACK BEING SOUGHT/REQUESTED:
Reliable and somewhat "proven" recommendations for Downsizing of OE Wheel Size & Upsizing of Tires to obtain more aggressive styling and some limited increase in performance.
VEHICLE INFO/SPECS:
2016 LR4 HSE LUS SCV6
OE Wheel Set (currently installed): Land RoverOptional Style 516,20" diameter 5-Split Spoke Alloy Wheels (Option Code: 029MZ, Style 516), 8.5j x 20" ET47, Bolt Pattern 5x120
Suspension Mod: Increase OEM Normal Ride Height Default Setting(s) by 1.0 inch (25.4mm) to 1.5 Inch (38.1mm) to permit larger tire size by means of using GAP IID BT electronic Diagnostic Programmer or preferred 1" Lift Kit (if found to be available). Note: I am aware that both Johnson Rods and Rhino are considering production of 1" rods at this time but as of yet, such are not available from those vendors.
Wheel Set: Downsize to a suitable Land Rover OEM 19" diameter wheel set, i.e. 8jx19 ET53 Note: OEM LR Alloys (2014-present) are preferred but similar aftermarket Alloys will be considered).
Tire Sizing: Upsize to a suitable 19" LT/LTZ/KO or AT Type Tire that when mounted (on 19" rim set) will not result in rubbing with or against vehicle body and/or chassis components in all ride height modes including Aero Mode (highway speeds), Normal Ride Height Mode, Off-road Mode(s) or Entry/Exit Mode(s). Desired performance also includes
INPUT / RECOMMENDATIONS:
If providing feedback to these questions please be specific in terms of your recommendations to include detail on any manufacturers components, i.e. Brand/Part Number/Sizes and Suppliers. Note: as you have already interpreted I am a novice/newbie to this subject and therefore look to learn from those of you with much wider knowledge and experience.
To be honest the 20" rims you have probably have more options available for tire tread patterns and sizes than the 19" rims will offer.
Yes, agree and that may be where I stay (with OEM 20 Alloys), the key drivers/decision maker is in my lifting method to avoid rubbing/interference with a larger profile tire (width/height). On that, I am not opposed to changing the normal ride height settings (upward) to gain the 1.0 to 1.5" height (above factory default) by means of SDD or using the Gap IID Diagnostic Programmer but at this time and thinking changing the the hardware method of using rods and installing larger bump stops is the best route to go its just a matter my finding the rods. As stated in my orig. post, I don't want to go up to a 2.5 lift as I have no intention of running 35" tires.
Decided to go with the Nitto Grappler G2 series 265/50/R20 which will add a slight amount of height and width over the stock 255/50s while planing to leave the OEM suspension alone for now.

18" compmotive wheels and any AT in 255/65/R18 or 265/65/R18, 255/70/R18 would be nice but I have never gotten absolute confirmation that last size would fit.
20s look stupid to me, 19s look stupid to me, wide tires look stupid to me. All subjective.
Oh and going wide, "aggressive" just to look that way is trash. Stick to factory width if you are driving on the road, for occasional off road use it really doesn't matter, magic off road computers will do a lot. Load rating makes a difference.
I have a 2011 LR4 with factory 19's. I have ordered the Evo-corse Dakar styled 18's. This gives you the best overall options for tires. The load rating is better than any wheel out there. For the issues with the possible lift fit instead of the Johnson rods, I have gone the route of the llams suspension plug in. I have been researching for close to a year prior to buying this rig. I will be building this for longer excursions.... with the smaller wheels and larger tires, I will be fitting a steel rear bumper with single swing away. This then opens up the area where the current spare tire rests, to Mae room for a spare fuel cell with protection. I wil be able to go over 500 miles in between fill ups. Keep you al posted.
Rewillia:
We have a 1.5 inch lift kit for the LR4 for those wanting less than the 2.5 inch lift. I recommend the 18 inch Compomotive wheels for the best tire options. LR3 Lift Kit, LR4 Lift Kit, Johnson Rods
I've seen a bunch of confusing info on this particular setup online, but i can confirm that BFG KO2 in 275/65 r18 using Compomotive PD1881 rims (offset is ET44) and 2.5 inch lift rods works. I have a 2013 LR4. No modification or cutting needed. Also no rubbing either, even in full steering lock. BFG supposedly run small. I've seen some forum posts claim they are actually 31.7 inches in diameter. I don't know if true. I was able to fit full size spare tire in the underbody storage at about 5 psi, but it prevents use of the tow hitch receiver bc tire prevents hitch receiver from inserting into place.
