LR4 Signature LED
Hi, very new to this, but maybe someone can help me out please.
I just purchased a 2012 LR4 HSE LUX and I noticed in some pictures their signature LED lights are on without the regular lights.
Could anyone tell me how I can get the signature LED lights to run as DRL’S ( day time running lights) without the regular lights to come on.
Is there something I can do, or something I can pass on to the Land Rover tech.
Thanks

I have some concerns about your dealer, and you should too!!!
I was quite intrigued and just called Land Rover to verify the DRL feature in the 2012 LR4 model; they call them "Halo Lights." They again confirmed that once you start the vehicle and the gear is shifted out of "P" the Halo Lights are automatically on without the headlight beams. If that doesn't occur the dealer should be able to reprogram them.
I suggest you again go back to the dealer and have them call Land Rover in your presence to verify this. Their number is 800-637-6837.
Good Luck!

LeFils,
I've got a 2010 as well. Have you checked back to see if they made this programming change as a software update to the 2010? I'd be curious to know because I would love to do that with mine as well. For now, I just turn on the AUX lights to get the LED's on.
I know they added programming for some of the new off-road capabilities introduced in 2011 - like the Hill Start Assist. This wasn't available in 2010, but when the 2011's came out it was new. Since then, the dealership updated the software and I now have Hill Start Assist (as tested off-road on several climbs).
Thanks for the great info - keep it coming!

Hi BD ... for the 2010 LR4 HSE LUX PLUS model take a look at page 74 of your owner's manual. It does tell you that the dealer can program the low beam headlamp to serve as daytime running lamp, which is what I had done in mine. Once programmed the low beam headlights and halo lights will turn on when you shift out of "P" whether the lamp master switch is off or in automatic mode.
Thanks LeFils. I had tried that several year ago and was hoping to get just the halo lights, hence my comment about potential software upgrades applied to previous year models. If you do find out something different, please let me know.
