LR4 Vibration at speed problem
#11
Mine has just started doing this.
[=Trevorn;546881]I have an LR4 with 45k miles. I am getting a body vibration at hcruising speeds on the highway, 70-75 mph. The vibration is not coming from steering column, seems whole body is shaking. I slipped into neutral, no change. Accelerate, no change. Turn left/right slightly no change. If I brake and reduce speed the vibration reduces but does not disappear entirely. After couple of minutes and braking/accelerating the vibration goes. I had the wheels re-balanced and that has not solved the problem. I am mostly driving freeways.
Any suggestions appreciated. Dealership is going to try and investigate early next week. Its recently had a 45k service with no problems.[/QUOTE]

A hot rear wheel would suggest a caliper or EBP is binding. Be careful how far you drive it if that is the case. You may be looking at new discs and pads as well as a caliper. If that is the cause, at least it'll clear the problem. If they're changing the caliper think about changing the brake fluid at the same time and check all the brake hoses. You may be able to get an idea of the problem by looking at the brake disc and pads, or listening as someone drives the vehicle forward slowly.
