Do water pumps on the LR4 fail more often that any other vehicle? From reading, it seems like they fail often. What is the reason for this? Poor design?

 

Water pumps on ALL JLR models from 2010 to present WILL fail at some point, though it's more common for the O-rings or gaskets to fail rather than the pump. It's an easy repair done in less than an hour and for less than $200 DIY.
