Default New to Land Rovers

Hi all, I am new to Land Rovers and the forum. It`s not letting me complete my profile yet. I live in Canada.
Last night I bought a 2010 LR4 HSE Lux, (yes, I was drinking) It has some gremlins to deal with and I need to tow it home from a short distance away. To do that I need too get it into neutral, the interlock doesn`t seem to be releasing. Does the shifter bezel just pop off, upward? I did learn that the shifter **** pulls straight up.

Thanks in advance.

Update, bezel does lift off, released to neutral and towed it home. The real problem seems to be that it looks like it is in park but when I try to start it, the message say its not in park.

Shifter linkage was seized. Now it starts and shifts, I can get into the garage and start all of the diagnosing. Right now the dash lights remind me of Christmas.

I’d start with a system reset, to hopefully clear or filter the irrelevant codes.

I will, thanks. I found that the alternator seized, and the belt is burnt off of it. A reset and proper voltage should sort out a few things.

I was told since July, owner passed away in September but I was wondering the same thing. All of the calipers look fine, usually they will rust if sitting too long. I paid very little for it, I expected some issues. Winter project.

I'm not sure how define "lots" but there is salt used in the area. I have had vehicles sit longer with no issues like that. I'm sure I will run into more issues. I have to clear a spot in the garage, put it up on stands and give it a thorough inspection. Anyone know where I can download a good service manual?
