If you know people that have repaired in the past, tell them to request a reimbursement. There is a law requiring reimbursement for repairs made within some window of time, and Land Rover has a reimbursement program set up.

Well, that's crazy. I've all the parts sitting here and planed for a nice weekend project when I came across this post whilst reconfirming best practices for disconnecting lines and removing the tank. Now I'm going to have to contact the main dealer and ask them about this. (they've actually recommended I do it myself as they charge $1400 just for labor).

Well, I've spoken with the Land Rover dealer and they could find no record of this recall and suggested contact with JLR. I spoke with JLR customer care today and they were unable to locate ANY reference in their systems of this recall number N623... I mentioned a search with Google yields multiple references but she said regardless if it doesn't exist in the JLR system, there's nothing they can do.

Went to another Land Rover main dealer and spoke with an advisor who was indeed familiar with this recall. He said the reason Land Rover has no record of it is that it is NOT yet an active recall and won't be until Land Rover begins the program. He said this was a leak and should not have been made public yet. He said if you have the repair work done, Land Rover will reimburse for any payment made to a Land Rover dealer but he was not certain how long before that reimbursement would be made after the program officially starts. His advise was to wait unless the failure requires immediate servicing.

Update. Our local dealer has no recall info in their system. I suspect that JLR has not generated the recall yet, that is why they are saying October 8th for mailing out notices.

UPDATE: The recall is now in the JLR dealer system....however the revised fuel filter assembly required is showing over 300K units on back order with no ETA...

I received my notice two weeks ago. What flange is it exactly? Does it make sense to put in a new pump at the same time?
