Default Normal Height Only Error

Hi,

LR4 2013 5.0L V8

I have started getting the "Normal Height Only" error message.

When I start the car the compressor runs for around 10 seconds then stops. There is then a ffft" noise from the area of the compressor. The error light will then be on.

If I monitor the pressure with my ODB scanner (i dont have a GAP tool) it is around 350 kpa at startup and then rises to around 1300kpa when the compressor is running. It then drops back to around 350 once the error light comes on.
I have receipts from the previous owner that show the compressor was replaced in 2023 (Hitachi).

I will get this fault probably 8 or 9 times out of 10 times that I start the car. the occasion time it will start and everything works fine.

Scanner is also giving the following codes :
U0421(68) - Archive (inactive)
U3000-55 - Archive (Inactive)

C1131-92
C1A20-64

Can anyone give any advice? After reading lots of forum posts my initial reaction was that it would probably be the compressor but then when I saw the pressure increasing and the fact that it is only 2 years old has me doubting that...

Compressor/Pump is failing - mine is doing the same. My dealership wants $7500 t replace and install, or $3850 for the pump only and I can have it installed by somebody else. Time to find a new pump online and have my local guys install.

the pump is very easy to remove and install. there are several good videos online.

you can pick up a pump for far less than $3,850.00 from various vendors. i just purchased and installed a Hitachi style HD compressor/pump from Lucky8 for under $500.00. working well so far. they have the AMK style for under $600.00 and a Land Rover branded AMK for $1,300.00.
