Default Parts advice request

Ok, so my "worn brake pads" light came on today, and it is my first pad change on the Rover. What is the suggested pad for most people? Not trying to go crazy but dont want to cheap out either. Also, do I need to replace the wear indicator sensor at the same time or is that fine through multiple sets?

Thanks all!

I have always used the OEM pads and rotors. I don't think anybody has ever found an aftermarket pad and rotor combo that works better.

Not sure who makes the OEM LR pads but the OEM rotors are Brembo. Typically you will need to change both the pads and rotors at the same time.

You can find some options here: https://www.roverparts.com/brakes/

I believe I used Zimmerman rotors, Pagid front pads, and Ferodo rear pads. It was my understanding this was OEM, but probably depends on the model year. Anyway - seems to work well, completely silent and no detectable difference from my originals.

I have Brembo pads and rotors on my LR3. The rotors are excellent, after years they still are not rusting and they dont show much wear. But the Brembo pads I will not use again, they turned my silver alloys a gold color. Not a lot, but enough that even with regular washings it will no longer come off. However black dust is minimal from them.

Yes, you do need to replace the wear indicator sensors each time you replace pads. Bosh makes a good set of OEM spec pads that come with new clips to hold them in place rather than trying to re-use the old ones.

what wwilybrd said onto sensors. I switched to EBC rotors with green stuff pads. Best brake switch Have ever made. he stopping is perfect no fade regardless of how or where I'm driving. and the life span so far is the best I am just now hitting 20K on them and I have close to 50% pad left. I am told they go slightly faster once they hit around 30% left. but at that rate I will still get over 32K on a set to pads minumin. and withth weight these trucks have thats okay with me.

I replaced the rotors and pads and sensors on our 2010 Range Rover Sport. I got everything from FCP Euro. FCP Euro has a lifetime replacement on all of the products that they sell, fluids, pads and wiper included. I am planning on keeping this RRS so I thought it worth the investment. Their prices were competitive and came with free shipping. (I have no affiliation, other than being a happy customer). We got Zimmerman rotors all around. They have been great. They are coated and haven't rusted at all. We got Akebono pads. No dust and no squeal. We also got sensors and some brake pad grease. Delivered (free shipping) the price was around $440. We have been very happy with the pads and rotors. Best of all, I don't ever have to pay for them again! Good luck.
