Default Program LR4 fob near Boston?

UPDATE: I bought the Launch CReader Elite X431 scanner and it doesn't appear to be able to Program New Fobs. I can verify the keys I have. But that's it.

I have a 2016 LR4. Any help out there?

One of my keys went through the washer & dryer in my Levi's. Now it's possessed and locks the car while it's in the car. I bought a fob online but need it programmed and don't want to pay the dealer rate.

Is there someone on the South Shore of Boston who can program keys? Thanks.

UPDATE: I ordered a Launch scanner and will do it myself. It may help on my finicky TPMS sensors on my set of snow tires.

Smart, so much better to pay for the device once and then you can do as many keys as you want. I laughed out loud at the dealer when I called and they said they'd charge me $600 per key for my 2013. Instead I bought 3 on Amazon for $20 each and an IID Tool and did them myself. I think getting the actual keys cut were $90 each for the spare keys in the fob.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the ease in replicating and pairing the fobs and keys depends on the model vintage.
Is this so simple for a 2013+ vehicle? Seems to me we are aiding the car thieves, if so.

From the videos I've seen you need access to the OBD2 port as well as a working key so unless the thief is a parking lot valet, for example, I think it's a safe process.

Thieves have much cheaper tools that they pick up from eBay. Their tools are literally cheaper than the ones we use to make our own keys. Including ones that can pick up the signal from your key fob when it's in the house and extend it out to your vehicle in your driveway so the car thinks your fob is in the thieves hand.

Yes, at least with the IID, you need to have the vehicle already running, and the IID tool registered and running and a valid working fob in order to create more fobs from that.
