Reliability after Engine Replacement
Hello,
I am just looking for some insight into others' experiences. I own a 2015 LR4 (~100k km) which I absolutely love (bought used and owned for about six month). Recently, my engine suddenly overheated and due to some other issues, the engine needs to be replaced. Our mechanic mentioned that they will be installing a rebuilt engine from Land Rover directly; however, they advised that they wouldn't recommend driving it for long distances in the long term, as there is a high likelihood that the new engine will overheat again or face similar issues.
I was just hoping to hear about the experiences others had with driving their LR4s after a full engine swap by LR and how reliable it has been.

I would ask why they say this. There is no reason a rebuilt engine should overheat. The only issue causing the overheating is the failure of the plastic cooling pipes. Replace them preventatively, and there shouldn’t be any issue.
