Default Replacing exterior mirror

Parked last week and when I came back to my 2010 LR4, I found pieces of the left-hand side exterior mirror shattered across the ground. Unfortunately someone had hit it and broken it badly. Mirror glass is smashed, the black plastic surround to the mirror is broken, and it appears that the motor controls no longer work. So I'm looking at a full replacement. It's motorized and heated, but no memory and no cameras.

I'd like to fit the replacement myself - I can order the right parts but looking for guidance on how to replace it. Does the new unit get attached at the pivot point outside the vehicle where the mirror folks in and out, or do I have to remove the full mirror unit from the door mounting? Either way, does anyone have tech drawings / step by step instructions for how to remove and replace it?

Any guidance welcome. Thanks!

By the way, did the exterior mirror replacement. Pretty straightforward. Pull off the mini speaker on the inside of the door (it unclips at the top then pulls upwards) and three torx screws to remove the entire mirror assembly. Apparently you should be able to reach into door panel and detach the cable - but I couldn't reach it so part unscrewed the door panel to open up an inch or so of gap at the top of the door panel. Easy to unplug the harness and connect the replacement. Then quick job to screw it all back together. Probably took a half hour in total (and would be much quicker a second time...)
