Default Replacing LR4 Roof Weather Strips

The weather strip coating on my 2010 LR4 have dried out and cracked and peeled off, exposing the metal underneath so I purchased the following parts to replace:
LR018079
LR018081

I know I'll need to get the plugs out (any recommendations?) but there's a lip at the very front of the replacement part that leads me to believe it needs to go underneath the windshield. Has anyone replaces these before? Have you needed to remove the windshield? I've been unable to find a post or video where this repair is being done. Thanks in advance for your guidance!

The plugs are simple 'fir tree' fittings and can be pulled out with a trim tool or similar, like a tack puller. IIRC the lip at the front of the new strips should just tuck in under the moulding at the top of the screen. If you watch as you remove the old one you'll see how it comes out.

Confirmed that these just fit under the windshield molding. I was unable to get the plugs out without breaking them though unfortunately. Luckily I installed full length roof rails and didn't need the plugs any more.
