Scrapping 2012 LR4
I have had a 2012 Land Rover LR4 for five years and loved it. However, it recently had some engine trouble...and the local Land Rover dealer (Rochester, NY) told me that the engine was broken, and it would cost a lot to buy a new engine. Not sure exactly what the issue is...I trust them, they are not trying to scam me. I asked if they wanted to buy it, and they passed...it is in good shape (other than the engine), but they are just overworked and understaffed...I think they are having a hard time keeping up with the jobs they have. I am trying to get information from them on exactly what is broken.
So, what is next for me? I have no idea on the worth of a 2012 which is in pretty good shape other than the engine. I signed up for some online scrap dealer, you type in the make and model, and they offered me $650...which I know is just whatever their computer spits out. I think that somewhere there must be someone who is interested for more than that...even for the parts.
Any good advice? I may just list in on craigslist or facebook marketplace, but have no idea on where to price it.

If you have the space, parting it out might make more sense for you. The LR3/LR4 groups on FB seem to be full of people wanting to buy parts to their vehicles. Here in Europe there are constantly people stripping non-runners for parts and selling them off on FB (and fleabay, I assume).
Thanks for the response. I'm not mechanically inclined enough to break it apart and sell it piece by piece. If someone wanted to buy it as is (and perhaps sell the parts themself)...what would be a good price to ask for it?
