Hi everyone, new to the forum but not new to fixing cars.
Just got handed a 2012 LR4 from the in-laws with some issues that i'm working through (broken switches, armrests, oil pan gasket leak, blown brake lines, rear door not opening, not shifting into drive, spare not lowering) and now i'm on to the sunroof not opening.
I did the re-cal procedure holding for 20 seconds and the sunroof opens and closes as those it's doing what it's supposed. However, it still won't operate normally.
If it runs through the re-cal, clearly the electrical and motors are working fine as well as the switch. Do I have a dirty sensor somewhere or something?
I don't understand how if it procedure works and the sunroof clearly does what it's supposed to in order to recalibrate that it won't work.
What am I missing?

Hi, I had the same issue on my 2010 LR4. I reset it with a Launch JLR scanner and all was well after that.

 

What is a Launch JLR scanner and how do i get use of one? Dealership thing?
