I found a post from 2021 with an install of a Tesla Style Screen, but I thought I would post an updated one. My son and I installed the Tesla Style Screen from Euronavigate in his 2015 LR4 two weeks ago so I thought I'd share. Euronavigate was very good at making sure they knew exactly which head unit I had (there are 3 different styles I think) so that they could program the correct can bus protocol. I originally purchased the dual **** style but they said the Tesla Style Screen was the appropriate one for 2015. Hear are a couple of pics of the front and back of my screen:
Powerful UK has a great install video for the older style head unit, but they also shared a link of someone else installing it in the head unit above. Here is that link:
The older style head unit is a little more difficult to install from what I can tell from the Powerful UK video, but other than that it's pretty much the same. You need standard trim tools to remove the two side vents (and strong hands). Also, I had to use a T20 for most of the screws, a T10 for two small screws at the bottom of the AC control panel (they are behind a small trim piece), and a T8 to separate the back of the head unit from the front screen. Before you start, you might want to go ahead and set the Mode to AUX which is what you need to actually here sound. Here are a few pics of the result:
Final thoughts: Euronavigate was a bit slow in providing install instructions, but the video link above is pretty comprehensive. My son will mostly use Carplay which works fine and has been pretty consistent. As you can see for the pics above we still have access to the old screen (there is a steering wheel app on the Tesla Style Screen), and that's how I set the Mode to AUX after it was installed because no sound was coming out while using Carplay until it was set. At first the sound was only coming out in Mono on the right side speaker, but I reset the supplied 3.5mm stereo cable that I ran to the glove box and that cleared up the problem. All steering wheel buttons work as do the cameras. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the setup and it looks good in the dash. I may get some double sided tape to affix the trim piece that was supplied. It fits well enough but is east to pull off. Let me know if you have any questions.
Great work. I did a similar install in my Hummer H2 in Jan and then sold it to get our 2015 LR4 a couple weeks ago. Looking to do the same with the LR4.
One question - it appears that the LR4 install retains the CD/DVD player correct? If so, does the new unit integrate with it so I can continue to play my CDs? (yes, Im an old guy - LOL). Also, was it totally plug & Play as far as cabling?
This looks like a great solution for many of us who have been looking to upgrade their audio experience but not their reliable, maintenance free, fuel efficient, LR4s.
Do you know if it works on Android Auto? Did you have to create any 'workarounds' with wiring, app usage, setting each time you start the car, etc... that weren't necessary previously? The question is really this >> what is different with the entertainment ops and what DON'T you like about the setup? Beside the dash piece.

It does work on Android Auto. No workarounds needed at all which was a relief. There really isn't anything I don't like. It doesn't drop the carplay connection like prior iterations from what I read. The only quirky connection issue revolves around turning off the car and exiting the vehicle and then returning after a short time like 5 or 10 mins. The carplay doesn't want to connect. The fix is simple though, just open the phone, disconnect the Bluetooth, and simply reconnect. Then carplay restarts. My 2022 Defender does the same thing from time to time so it may be a Land Rover thing.
