    hey charlie...I have an 03 with the 4.6L. I've had it for a few years now. It started making a ticking again yesterday.
    I'm in Largo, FL. Was 33 out yesterday. (~90). Definitely happens when truck is at temp and it's a hot day...
    I have the inline thermostat (extinct) with the 180 deg thermostat installed.

    anyhow...I read thru your thread from 2016 on your 2000 rover where you found out it was a stopped up oil
    pickup tube (ie: starvation of oil).

    is your rig still working well? no further issues with that noise?
