Default ARB lockers installed in D1 diffs on my 69 Series IIA SWB 88

Getting my front and back ARB Air lockers + air compressor soon from RN. This is going to be an interesting install. It will also make my SWB great in the mud when my work commitments allow me some free weekend time

Nice! Are you setting them up yourself? I'm waiting on some tools to arrive so I can rebuild my diffs and rear ARB.

I'm curious why, since you're targeting off-road use, you wanted to reduce your ratio.

Me? I'm going to 4.12 Ashcrofts so I can run 33's or 35's.

No, I was asking the OP, since he's going from 4.77 to 3.54.

You'd be raising your ratio, from the standard 3.54 Disco if you're going to 4.12.

I have not changed the ratios in the Disco diffs yet this is on the agenda as well. The lockers have not arrived as yet. Been surfing the web on gears. I need to go to 4.1's or the same 4.57 because the 3.54's are a bit tall. Can't use the o/d on the box and the dinky 2.25 has enough on the flat but does not like the hills of any sort in 4th. I have been looking at Ashcroft and this seems the way to. Work commitments take me away from home 2 weeks at a time so this project is going to take awhile. Probably look to order the gears in March the budget has to be followed maybe or else. Keep you all posted.

Oh, you said Disco diffs but no mention of changing the R&P so I assumed you were using the stock 3.54.
What "same 4.57" are you referring to? Series diff ratio is 4.7.

The 4.7 that were in the series diffs not 4.54 typo on my part. GBR have some R & P in 4.11 and 4.14 at $299-00 and $399-00. Looking into this. And also Ashcroft in the UK . I think I may look into having GBR do the fitting if I don't get the time to do this

Well, if you're buying new ring and pinions I'd try to get a ratio to support whatever size tire OD you're planning on running. If you're going to run a 32" like 7.50x16 I'd not go with any lower ratio than 4.7.

Just phoned home. My ARB lockers have arrived . And I am working in Savannah at a customer. . This gives me some time to research R&P gears?. GBR looks to be the ones to contact. . The 4.71(7x33teeth) look the business.
