Default Bodydropped rover

My name is Ryan and I run a Streetrod shop called Form&Function. We recently started a project some of you might want to see. This is my 95 rover classic I bought as a theft recovery. Our plan is to stock floor the frame with airbag suspension and install engine, tranny, wires and pretty much everything else from a chevy.I know some of you are die hard four by guys but you have to understand I live five minutes from work down a paved road and have no use for anything other than the style of the body. This is a custom show car project.

This seems like a pretty cool project. I have always appreciated the simplicity andlines of the Range Rover Classic body. I am really interested to see how your project turns out! It will be really cool to see someone execute a project as unique as this!

So, keep in mind if you make it a one wheel drive, you really want that one wheel in the front. As a rear wheel they don't handle at all, when my front shaft was out driving in the snow was constant wheelspin at every touch of the throttle, the weight is just not in the right places.

After going over the basic geometry of this truck I can understand what your talking about.the one hundred inch wheel base with a good portion of the weight in the front. Its basicaly a chevy s10 pickup truck shy seven inches. However I am a chassis fabricator and know the cause and effect of different suspension designs and am confident I can considerably improve the driving characteristics of this truck. Also I live in the middle of oklahoma and the weather is very mild.On top of that the money spent on this truck I would doubt if it will evereven seethe rain.

so from a newbies point of view, what youre essentially doing is taking the original chassis of the rover, and custom fab-ing it to make the body very low..thus dropped? So its a real custom vehicle..not just the cheap-o cut a spring and break a piece there?
