Headlight conversions
On my 03's each headlight has at least one broken fitting, anyone build custom mounting frames for these lamps yet? I'm thinking of doing that plus converting to HID, eventually HID for all the lamps, just so much less power use.
I think I will buy that relay harness. If you pull the highbeam switch back and hold it, it makes a huge differance in light output. Relays also allow high wattage bulbs to be used. ARB also makes a nice kit.

Hi, I finally finished the installation of the 03-04 headlights in my 02 disco. It came out pretty nice. I think it was definetly worth the time and money.
Some things to be aware of:
To make the lights fit you need to remove quite a bit of metal from the top of the radiator support where the outer most mounting screw will fasten to the support. Its all good though as you will find the headlight will be horizontally level when the front and back lip of the support is gone.
Wiring- use ******* wiring diagram. It lived by it!!! I also added relays so the high and low beam would stay on at the same time. As Willie pointed out it makes a big difference. The wiring diagram for the relays can be found at this web site along with info on how to get the relays.

Aiming the lights can also be found at this web site. I used the local Walmart as nothing is level were I live!!!
Cost - I would suggust getting the headlights at Atlantic British -NEW ($300ea.). I had a bad connector on one i bought on e-bay and it took probably 3 hours to diagonose and repair. On the other light I got some of the plastic was cracked. I paid a little less than $200 per light on ebay. For $100ea. more I could of eliminated a lot of frustration. Plus its your headlights - you want to be safe - dont mess around with saving a buck your life not woth it!!!
The total cost came to about $500 bucks and took about10 hours.
I'm selling my factory lights on ebay and so take about $100 off of the total.
I took pics but they are large files and I could not post. If you want I could e-mail them to you.
Thanks for all the help Willie.
