I have a beefy roof rack that covers the entire roof of my 1991 RR Classic. It bolts on to the rain gutters in 6 location. Structurally, How much weight can I put on it? I’m aware I don’t want to raise the CG. I’m talking about low speed stuff. Cruising on the beach with the family on top sort of thing. The Rack already weighs near 100lbs and the manual says I shouldn’t load it to more than about 180lbs. What is the limiting factor?

Any Advice Would be greatly appreciated.

Nice rack, It looks like a factory rack, maybe?? I would guess 2x to 3x times the 180lbs. because the rack spreads the load over the whole roof. If you can, try to renforce the points were it mounts to the gutters if you are worried about it. Just my opinion anyway
