Information on retrofitting H.I.D. headlamps

On the SHO's... huge PITA to fit HID's, but worth it since the stock headlamps do such a poor job of illuminating the road at night.
On my Disco II... to be honest, the lighting is really quite good. Even the cutoff line is very well defined. In fact, the only time I've seen a better cut off line on a fluted lens was when I had Bosch 7" ECE housings installed on my old LWB.
(This is the LWB)

Sorry, I was referring to a post that got moved....my bad. I am not even sure what hid stands for. Pretty sure it has nothing to do with five speed discos in the US.

I love how some people take a fight because it just bother them, force the law to act and when the law do it and go across the board they are the first one that complaint how intrusive the authorities are. Don't know anyone else but I am certainly aware that a few things in all my cars are illegal, go ahead and give up your right to modify your truck just because you feel discomfort or don't like certain modification on someone else vehicle. So many worthy causes and a few people worrying about HID headlights, sometimes I wonder why have I give up most of my life in the Armed Forces so a few people can exercise their right to bitch about some insignificant like headlights..........

only on the point of complete replacement !!!!! you do not need to.. just change the bulbs and use the original connections ..
i think you need to find out , or go look at an HID kit yourself ....what you are showing there is a halogen lamp, meaning the bulb is halogen type, the HID kit however ,can and has always been made to replace the halogen bulb ... so someone is making a fool out of you ... cars came with sealed beam head lamps long time ago , then halogen , where you had from 60/55, 90/100, 130/100 etc, and in super white or regular ...
HID - ( High-Intensity Discharge ) was made to cost effectively replace the halogens bulbs in most cases , it was banned in most countries because of the blinding wattage they come in....
LED'S are different from HID'S by the way....
