Default Interest in custom HID Reverse Light?

I have been looking for an integrated offroad light for my Disco II for a while. My initial, thought was to have openings cut into my rear Rovertym bumper between the 2 tail lights and install some small round ones there. Since then, I have worked with a person in the BMW forums with some lighting situations on my e60, and an interesting option came up.

He developed an HID Reverse light kit that is seemlessly integrated into the existing reverse light housing. The intent was to provide more visibility especially for cars with tinted windows.

I have approached him about developing a kit for Discovery IIs. What he needs is a group buy minimum of 5 people. The kits would be $200 and include everything you need. He also needs a volunteer in the NYC area to bring him their vehicle for fitment and development. In exchange, that person would receive free installation as well.

Anyone interested?

Great. Just need 4 more to start the process. Are you in the New York area?

bump.... any others interested? Nice custom mod that should prove useful on the trail and even in parking situations.

not just for a backup light. for rear offroad HID lights that are integral to the stock housings. good set of lights would normally be at least $100 anyway. For Hella HID offroad lights, you would pay $500-$1000 per light. And these won't get damaged by low limbs vs installing on a rack.

also, this includes the switches and wiring... most offroad lights, you have to buy an additional HD harness for.

Well, I've been off-roading for a few years, often at night, and a good $25 tractor flood has always been more than enough light.
