Default liftin my rover

i have a 96 disco1 and im looking for mainly more tire clearance for bigger tires. I would like to know if i should go for just a body lift, and if so where could i find one for my land rover, orshould i go ahead and pay the extra for the ome suspension lift

No since adding a body lift to an already warn out suspension, all you will gain is alot of body roll.
I would suggest you consider doing to one of the OME lifts in the 1 1/2" to 2" range. The truck will handle better and certain look better.

Contact Tony at 650-365-4145 and tell him Mike sent you, he will take good care of you. Let me know after you do the lift, what you think of it.

OME springs for $132 a set.
He has a nice shop in Northern California and his prices are very reasonable.

I also have a 96', which was sagging and leaning to the pass side. I purchased a set of Old Man Emu "medium" springs and shocks last weekend from British Pacific in Valencia, Ca. Don't remember the exact price, but it seemed very reasonable, plus the guy is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I'll definitely be dealing with him again. Anyways, I installed the springs/shocks today, and it gave me about a 2 1/2" lift or so. I also removed the rear sway bar while I was at it, with virtually no change in body roll after the new springs, plus the rear axle articulation will be better now. I couldn't be happier with the purchase, and would highly recomend it.

A body lift does require some suspension attention anyway (needs to hold weight at higher elevation) - talk to the guys at www.dap-inc.com or www.rovertym.com, both offer good suspension packages and rovertym has a very affordable body lift package...
