Default MPG Mods

No mileage mod is as effective as keeping yer tach to 2k when not off road. 58 miles per hour on the highway and about 40 off. It's really hard to not get inpatient, but if you have an hOur drive 21mpg is better then 14 or 15. I also coast and try to predict where im gonna be so I don't have to slow down and re-accelerate. Try it. You get home like 15 min later and save big $ at 4 a gallon. The King

If you want to get crazy with it, check this list (and sight) out: http://ecomodder.com/forum/EM-hyperm...ecodriving.php

Also, some basics: clean air filter, proper tire pressure, good O2 sensors, fresh fluids, etc.

Nothing substitutes a gentle right foot though!

I've slowed down about a month ago, from 65 to 60 and went from a average of 12.5mpg to a average of 15.65mpg.

4mpg x 20 or so gallons = 80 more miles/tank! At $4/gal thats $20 per tank! Good work

Now, without any crazy aerodynamic changes or massive re-gearing, I wonder what's the best you can get? My 06 LR3 gets 17.5 around the city but haven't had it long enough to take too many long trips for hwy

The power/weight ratio is a big factor and makes the mpg differences between the V6 and V8 a lot smaller.

1. Or have someone tow you as much as possible.

2. Also take as much weight out of the vehicle as possible.

3. Ride a Vespa to work and save the Rover for the woods. Do you need a two+ton 4x4 to haul you everywhere you go?

4. Use public transportation as much as possible.

5. Ride share.

I get fuel once a week, I never go below half a tank unless I am on a trip and even then I fill up once I reach my destination.
I average a 1/4 tank for a weeks worth of driving.

I started doing this a few weeks ago, went from 12.34 MPG to 17.52 MPG!! I should also note that my spark plugs are over 2 years old and are only 7mm; not the ngk or kings borne, I think they are NAPA?! Fuel filter is rusted on and I am scared to attempt to take it off, might break the line! Tires were about 8psi below what they should be for the tire!!! Wondering what New spark plugs and wires, proper tire pressure, and new fuel filter could do!! :roll eyes: Also, when I accelerate the MAX I do is 1500 RPM, or if its a hill, then I go to the mark just above the 1500 RPM but below the 2000 RPM 1750 RPM maybe?
