Default Pop top sunroof.

I am probably getting ahead of myself but whenever the motor for the rear sunroof goes out I want to take the glass off and fabricate a hatch cover so I have access to the roof (shooting, roof rack) from the rear. Is there any reason that this won't work, or can't be water proofed? Has anyone done this?

I think for a D1 you can get a hand crank.

We'll I was thinking of how handy it would be, plus I take people out to hint wild boar and it would work pretty well, an access to the roof and gear would be cool as we'll. I thought about just a sheet metal cove that hinges off the roof, with silicone and some good seals it should be fine I assume. I jus wanted to throw that out and see if anyone has the same thought and freakin hated it
