I work on my vehicles to relax, and so when I travel its all go.

Mike

I remember you telling me that at Subway <Eat Fresh>

Cars I need to work on:

1969 Mustang Mach 1 5 speed conversion
1971 F-100 Install A/C
1986 Bronco II 4X4 Powersteering pump
1989 Mustang GT (Crate motor from FRPP)
2001 F-150 4X4 (needs mach 1 grill delete)
2005 Land Rover Freelander (Needs V8, after warranty my ***! lol)

I stay so busy I don't have time for it though. IE I'll be in Illinois all week next week.

When I'm not working or working on my LR or VW, I'm traveling.
We all have hobbies this is mine.

I am actually going to adjust my MAF and Throttle Pot to see if it leans out first. I just checked over the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and everything was fine except for the rich plugs. I figure you cant go wrong with adjusting the MAF since it is free. 1.8V here I come!
This got my attention. If you want to get some power out of your older Rover, change to a hotter coil, a set of magnacors and Bosh Platium Plus 4's, a new cap and rotor and a set of O2's. Also go thru and do a good decarbon on the engine.
this will work much better then thrying to tweek the MAF.
Mike
My 97 Disco has 55,000 miles on it....will it benefit from the same treatment or are my miles too low at this point?....Also, what coil do you recommend changing to?

by "decarbon" do you mean a fuel additive to clean the injectors? (seafoam stuff is mentioned?)

Thanks for all the valuable insight as always...

I was going to change my coil out to an MSD Blaster 2 coil, Magnecore wires and some Platinum plugs.

Seafoam is a fuel additive that will clean out your injection system and decarbon your cylinder walls and some parts of your heads. I added it to a half a gallon of fuel and it did work! I noticed a little black smoke (not much) then it had increased power (but not much). By running a hotter spark it will allow you to burn off all excess fuel you would not normally burned off.

If it doesn't deliver the performance you're after, rangerovers.net is carrying an advertisement on the front page for a similar product which will. My Trek97 which has been modified. Tigs

The timing is set by the ECM, no manual way.
