Default Roof rack question

I'm looking at a 99 RR for my son, but he doesn't like the factory roof rack and would prefer it to be slick top. So my question is can the rack be removed without leaving a bunch of holes. Thanks

Not really.
You can plug then holes, but depending on how you do it the plugs may stick up alittle.
And if not sealed correctly they will leak.

Of course it can be done. If you really wanted to get crazy you can have the holes welded and then repainted. It seems like a lot of work for little result.
