RE: Rover 4.0 Engine Dimensions
Bear with me on this one:
1. Marks 4WD makes motor mounts and tranny kits to put a small block Chevy in a Disco or a Pre-96 Rangie. Id rather have a Disco than a Rangie simply for its Jerry Can styling.
2. Im all but positive the mounts for a small block Chev and a Rat motor are the same.
3. My Chevy performance book says that the SBC and BBC and extremely simialr in external dimensions - something like 5" in width and maybe 2" in height - Weight is significantly different, but thats just a spring issue.
So - If I can get a SBC into a 97 Disco, then Im just wondering if I can fit a BBC in there also? If I knew how big the stock Rover moto was - I could determine it for sure.

Im kicking around a radical engine swap on a 97 Disco, and was wondering if any of you had a shop/tech manual that gave overall dimensions of the motor and how much it weighs?
Thanks
