Default Simple yet Effective!!

Hey there!

Just wanted to pass this on to you guys. I know it is very simple but I found while rebuilding the doors of our 1999 Disco 2 that it was difficult to find the metal lever extension running from the door handle to the actuator. I found that the screw or threaded end of a 1 1/2 inch standard eyelet holds the plastic grommet perfectly and by using a vice and a pair of pliers, I was able to fabricate the eyelet to fit and open the door perfectly. By twisting the eyelet portion 180 degrees and opening the "circle" to form a hook and then placing a slight "s" bend in the straight bar viola.......a VERY cheap alternative to purchasing the part or finding it in a junk yard. You might think it silly and may have a resource to find these small parts but I am kinda new here and wasn't able to locate the mechanism. The other cool thing is that because of the "hook", I didn't need the plastic retainer clip on the door handle side.

My 2 cents......

Default I will......

.......shoot some next time I have the door panels off. I didn't even think to snap a shot when I made it. It was very trail and error though just to get the right "s" shape bend.

I'll try to make another one also to send a pic of that too.
