I have to run about 12 minutes at 80 when I have to run in to town and I have not had any dpf issues.

Do all the Disco 5's come with the tow package and you have to buy a hitch like the LR3/4 platforms? Also, found one in New York that has been meticulously maintained, great service records and windshield replacement among other things noted by users... should I still have an inspection done by local LR dealer prior to purchase if I'd be an out-of-state buyer and wouldn't see the vehicle in person until picking it up? Any other recommendations for purchasing a vehicle from afar? Located in KY. Thanks!

I don't think all D5's come with a tow package. Mine did and it was the receiver only so I bought a hitch. I bought my LR2 from out of state and had it shipped to me on a carrier; it was the first vehicle I had ever purchased without seeing it person. I had test driven an identical one locally first. I was nervous but the seller took the time to go over the everything with me over the phone. I asked him if it smelled like smoke, if there were stains on the headliner from a kid's exploding juice box, was there curb rash on the wheels, etc. etc. They put my fears to rest and there were a lot of pictures to inspect. After it landed here I went over it before I signed and I've had it 10 years now and it's been great. Good luck!

Tow package is an optional extra. They don't all come with it

But it is better than on the old LR4. You don't need that expensive adaptor to add the square tow hitch. The tow hitch has that square adaptor there and ready to use!

Just picked up my '17 HSE TD6 over the weekend. 11 hour drive home from NY to KY. This truck is fantastic! Super fun to drive, comfortable and good gas mileage. Super happy with my purchase so far. Thanks for everyones help here! Glad to be back in a Rover.

Awesome! She's a beauty! I enjoy driving my '17 TD6 as well.
Can you hear those roof rack bars at highway speed? What was your MPG on that trip?

Thanks! The noise was not very noticeable at all and I was going speeds up to 80mph. Could definitely hear more wind noise with similar crossbar setups on my old LR4. I'd like to get a rack on there, but will take some time to shop those out. Wish they made a GOBI system for this vehicle, but am definitely interested in the FrontRunner and Voyager racks. I averaged 24mpg and that was driving through the hills/mountains of PA, MD and W. VA. Much, much better than the 13mpg I was getting in my '15 Jeep Grand Cherokee I was in before this one. I thought the LR4 was bad on gas... The HEMI is fun, but that thing drinks!

Through 2 tanks of diesel I have driven over 900 miles and averaged 23-24 mpg of split city/highway driving. Upcoming fuel filter service as I approach 100,000 miles. This truck rules! Will continue to document here.
