I'm not against Exide. I was not able to find the replacement for the D5. Maybe the part number changed? Exide's battery finder doesn't even list a battery for my D5. Any thoughts? Any help is appreciated.
Note: I have only ran Interstate in my 08 RR Fatty, 05 LR3, and late D2....no complaints

I was not certain as to what the battery size was for the D5, thanks for sharing. Two main battery companies in US are Johnson Controls and EastPenn; JC probably makes 65% of all the automotive batteries sold in the US. Johnson Controls makes the same batteries that you can get at AutoZone, Advance Auto, Walmart, and even PepBoys. Same battery, just a different label. H8 is the same size as battery group 49. $200 at AutoZone and Advance Auto, $169 at Walmart, and $149 at PepBoys (Champion brand). AutoZone's are all over the place, but they and Advance Auto's warranty is only for 3 years. Walmart and PepBoys both have a 4 year warranty. Same AGM battery, 95Ah and 900 CCA.
Interstate Batteries H8 (49) AGM is also made by JC, I believe, but is for some reason only rated at 900 CCA and 95Ah; can be had at my local Costco for $178 with a three year warranty.

Interstates are made by JC, but most often to their specifications. JC also owns 40% of Interstate. They've also begun using EastPenn for some of their middle and lower pricepoint batteries. Interstates that you find at Costco tend to be lower spec and different warranty than if you buy from a regular Interstate dealer. Overall, their inventory is rotated quite often meaning the battery you buy hasn't been sitting on a shelf for very long. Makes for a more resilient battery. They also have a great warranty, aren't fussy about honoring it and are sold in more places around the country than any other brand. Although if you buy from Costco, it's only warranted through Costco.
Advance Auto just purchased the Die Hard brand, so expect to see them cease carrying Interstate and dump a lot of money into reviving Die Hard.
