Rhinorack and Frontrunner seem to be the popular choices for roof racks.

Also, I like the Land Rover roof rack as it looks to me it fits directly on the car so you do not need a crossbar. But I am also looking for a good solution for a roof rack.

I like the no crossbar simplicity but at $1800 dollars, you can get a loaded up RhinRack set-up. Also, are there provisions for attachments on the LR version?

I have the rhinorack cross bars for my D5. Do not have the platform. If I keep the D5, I will add the platform. RR makes good qualtiy stuff. They are very much into Land Rovers and devlope good products.

Also, Frontrunner has a version that does not use crossbars. It bolts directly into the top of the roof rails at the appropriate spots.

Indeed looks like a nice option - but only difference from the LR roof rack is that Frontrunner bolts to the roof rails but it looks to me that the LR bolts directly on the roof. Also Frontrunner is half the price of LR ...
