Rough Country came through with some well priced fog lights... I am going to install this weekend. Where did you get your power for the lights? Direct connect to the positive or somewhere in the fuse box? kj

@bkjecu94 direct to the jump leads under the hood. Trying a piggyback fuse in the unused fog light slot is on my to do list, not needed but it's nice not to have to think about accidentally leaving the lights on.

I may have the time to route via fog lamp fuse. You ok if I just document via your thread? Keep the aftermarket installations together? I appreciate the prior pics and guidance.

Not a problem. I am interested to see how your install turns out and whether the open slot works for you. I just wish I could change the name of the thread title from "OEM" to "Aftermarket"

Maybe contact admin to see if they will change the name?

After reviewing my options I am going to pull off the front bumper cover to allow for a 'perfect' fit. I might need to notch some of the vertical support. Someone posted a link to the bumper cover removal PDF and I grabbed a copy last year. Before I use the fog lamp slot I will put a meter on it to confirm it is live. Should be fun!

Default Light Depth

[QUOTE=DeusMexMachina;766063]Finally got around to adding fog lights. I went with the Rigid road legal SR type. They are hardwired since getting through the firewall was easy through the steering column collar accessible through the panel for the brake fluid. The wiring harness provided by Rigid worked perfectly.

Many more lumens than the factory fog lights, but now my D5 looks like an angry gap toothed beaver 🤣...oh well at least I am ready for the next snow storm.

I noticed that you installed the Rigid SR in 6 inch for the fog lights. I'm considering installing a single 20 inch SR by the same manufacturer - possibly curved. Did you have any depth problems with mounting the lights given the vertical obstructions in that opening? What is the horizontal (depth) of the lights? How well do they perform at night? Thanks

I would have liked them more tucked in but the columns wouldn’t allow that. Though these lights could have fit between two of the columns and I could have bolted to them to get an even cleaner look. The lights are deep but Rigid does a good job of posting the dimensions in the product page so you can get the actual size for the one you are looking at.

I think a larger bar would stick out a good deal more due to the columns though.

The lights work great. It’s the first time I can actually tell my fog lights are on. With OEM fog lights you can barely see the extra lumens.
